Anyone used one of those new boxes.  If so what do you think.

Talking about the 7"X4.5"X2"? Have one Charles that got awhile ago but haven't done anything with. Seal looks good. Problem I see is the latch location for where I usually like to put the pipe thru. Is okay if put it higher or lower. Plastic feels flimsy to me, squeeze it when shut and some give. Think if tighten with a python lock it may cause it to squish some?
Just tried it real quick and kept squeezing it while submerged and it stayed dry inside, no leaks or bubbling.

Was at our local Walmart this weekend and they didn't have any of the new ones.

Ours do. Send me a money order for $50.00 and I'll buy you ONE. S&H I'll even include in that price! What a deal!!!! [rofl]

Anybody think it's false economy to save $10-$15 on a waterproof box and risk a $50 control board and a camera worth anywhere from $10 to $60 or more? But then any "waterproof" box may leak if the seal fails or the lens, flash or Fresnel Goop fails.

That's kinda my feelings Woody. I can usually pick up a Pelican 1020-1040-1060 for $7-15 in the "Warehouse Deals" section of Amazon. Hard to beat a Pelican at that price.

**Edit** I just checked Amazon, found a red 1040 for $4.98 with free shipping. Couldn't pass that deal lol.

Not very 'Amazon savvy' here.  How to search the warehouse?  I search 'warehouse deals pelican 1060' and I got a bunch of shoes and tshirts[confused]

I've been fortunate with the Outdoor Products cases WalMart has had.  I haven't even had to replace a seal yet.......

It's kinda hard to find, here's a link to the warehouse deals page: https://www.amazon.com/b?node=10158976011

There's a decent deal on a Pelican 1040 right now, $11.14. Most of the products in the warehouse deals section will say used, but really most are new/unused customer returns. Every case I've ever bought has been labeled as "used", but they have all been new.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002E9GR4S/ref=sr_1_3_olp?m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&s=warehouse-deals&ie=UTF8&qid=1477430653&sr=8-3&keywords=pelican+1040&condition=used

There aren't any 1060's in the warehouse right now, but keep an eye out, they usually pop up every few days.

Well yes, if we never test things nothing will ever change.  This is part of the fun with this hobby.  It gets boring using the same things all the time.
