Guess this will be one of the smaller "game" animals.
Always liked rabbit hunting. Dad's second beagle was AKC registered as Greenfield Josie, we called her Josie obviously, duh.
Anywho a pheasent farmer friend and us used to hunt together at times. We went there one day and he said in his pheasent pens he'd turn up the feeders and rats would run out. Said he got 50 the day before. Well we went in there, me with a bat and Dad with his unloaded double barrell and our dog and Bob's beagle. Great hunting the rats. Dad swung at one and broke the stock on his gun. At 50 rats had one running around the feeder at me and I swung just as Dad was yelling NO! Well total for the day was 50 rats and one beagle named Josie. Hit to the head killed her instantly. We quit hunting right after that.[frown]
