I have a peace of property in Clarence Pa.  I am working on putting a house on this property within a few months.  I will be very close to state gamelands and state forest lands.  I have 2 acres with good deer movement.  Man building a home is stressful.  Everything is so expensive.  I need a sand mound and that price is between 12k and 15k.  Crawl space foundation 20k.  So many permits that slow everything down.

Okay, let me get this visual out of my mind....the words "you" and "crawl space" just don't seem to go together! [rofl][rofl] Sorry couldn't resist that golden goose being handed over on the plate.
Seriously though good luck.

Good luck with it Charles.  In 5 years you will be happy you went through it.

Charles, you should move down here to the deep south. You won't need a 20K crawl space foundation and the winters are much milder. Can't make any promises when it comes to the summer though, you may be like Ken and just melt away during summer. LOL  Good luck with the new house buddy.

Was that your birthday present? I just celebrated another birthday and didn't get expensive presents like that. Enjoy your new place.

If you want good insulation for your house, give me a shout. We do spray foam insulation now. But that will be more money too. 😂

Still not in. We have been trying to get power for over 5 months. Hopefully in January. It has been very frustrating with all the problems.

Waiting for Penelac to get me power.  I have been trying for 5 months.  Should be in by the end of the month.

Charles, I had friends who lived for more than 50 years without electricity or running water (https://forestandfield.blogspot.com/2015/04/bob.html) and we did the same for months while we were building our house.

Seriously, those companies are really hard to deal with and don't seem to give a da-n about their pesky customers. Hope you get power soon so you can move in, enjoy your new place and begin to relax.
