I finally got a couple of the Eagle eye boards done but my laptop dosen't "see" the 18m chip to program it. I'm using 3aa batteries for power, have 3.74 volts between  V+  0v.
Seems like I need 4 volts for the usb to find it an program? Do I need New batteries or a new brain!

Yes the regulators are either 4 or 5 volts.  Jump to 6 volts

I've got a 4 volt Ldo regulator on it now, an have a 4.0 v across V+ & 0v, Looks like I need to bump it up a touch or use a 18m proto board. My laptop is old and held togeter with duct tape & goop, I can't smoke her usb ports now. USB ports should be 5 v a low-powered hub port may drop to 4.40 V

I have never had any trouble with this.  Power is regulated at 4v.

That's why I'm a bit confused, I can connect with the 20x2 chips on a aio board, but not the 18m2 on the eagle eye board so the usb port and cable are fine. Everything is checking out fine with my meter but there's a gremlin somewhere.

Do you have the 18M2 chip "selected" on the lower left of your screen?

Thanks guys, I got it programmed today. It helped when I hooked the programming connector the right way, instead of backwards.
Sometimes I just forget what I know...

But to keep making the same mistake an expecting different results is a sign of insanity,  so I've been told  [wave] repeatedly!

Wow. When you serve it up on a white platter it just takes all the fun out of any type of reply. [bawl]
