Here's one that outputs a jpeg 640x480 picture, serial I believe.
I know 640x480 isn't the best, but it will show me a deer.
I am trying to keep the cost under 50.00 now,,

Here's a bunch,, looking to keep the camera module under 25.00
most will output a Jpeg via serial, should be easy to interface with a microcontroller.

The dvr board will record jpeg still and video from a camera module.

I have made a trail camera out of a dvr module like this one with a camera attached. It is made by the same manufacture as this one "comedia". The problem with it is it was very very slow. And picture quality was not great

worth a try,
the only thing missing is time stamp,
maybe mount a LED bat clock on a tree that the camera is facing LOL
