Looks like Ten point is the new owner.

Mogadore, OH --(Ammoland.com)- Rick Bednar, Chairman, President, and CEO of Hunter’s Manufacturing Company , Inc., dba TenPoint Crossbow Technologies, manufacturer of premium level crossbows recognized for their precision performance, quality engineering, and dependability, has announced that his company purchased selected assets of former competitor, Horton Archery LLC, Kent, OH, effective July 1, 2013.
“Recently it appeared that Horton’s ability to operate deteriorated.” Bednar said. “The company released most of its employees in April, and its primary (secured) creditor finally took possession of all Horton’s assets, and closed its doors. We have purchased machinery, equipment, and other selected assets, including trademarks, licenses, and the rights to the Horton name from the secured creditor. It is important to understand that we did not purchase the Horton Archery LLC operation. That operation no longer exists, and TenPoint will not continue making or servicing any of Horton’s current or past bow models.”

Just a for what its worth. Archery shop use purchased alot of parts from the creditor/liquidator/bank (or whoever you want to call it) and seems like the Horton brands must have been sold alot in the south. He's getting lots of calls from Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia...asking about parts. Since he's a TenPoint dealer they asked him and he agreed that others could contact him concerning parts. As the Horton brand itself is now not warrented he got as much as he could and tries to help out these shops/individuals as much as he can. Still amazing the amount of people who tell him he has to honor Hortons warrenty as he carries TenPoint and they purchased Horton. Have to keep explaining only the name was purchased so no warrenty on Hortons. People have been calling (usually a dozen times a day since he got the parts). Local guys are still breaking them, mainly from dry fires. One guy came in and uses for a let down bolt a broken bolt with no field point. Couldn't get it through his head that he was basically dry firing the bow. Another came in today and was using a lighted nock. TenPoint had cautined Dave (as well as none are sold for their bolts) that the thinness of the plastic around the activation mechanism for the light won't hold up to the excessive force (for the crossbows, not compounds). So anyone who uses Luminocks, etc. should really consider/reconsider the ramifications of using them.

Yep, shows what bad management does. Going to bet you'll see in TenPoints near future an improved reverse limb crossbow.[rolleyes]
