Just got myself a Sony S600 that seems to be in good shape -- but when a picture is taken either with the internal memory or on a Pro Duo stick it gives a "File Error" message when the selector switch is moved to review. But, it's just fine when taking a video on either memory, they're recorded and play back. Tried formatting the stick and initializing the camera with no change. Haven't opened the camera yet. Any ideas?

It's not a file error I think I get but have 2 S600's that when go from review back to pick taking mode have to fiddle with it before it finally goes into it. Don't know if maybe your switch might not be going into the right place and giving you that?
Assuming you did try different cards that are know to be working? I know I know.

Thanks Jon. Tried different cards and playing with the switch, no change.

I am getting the same msg on a P32 any suggestions. Worked fine but now no pictures when I take some manually just the "file error" msg when I try to review.

Change out the card reader or readjust the card reader ribbon
