Fuji F45fd for sale.  8.3 mp camera that uses a sd card.  SS2 control board.   3aa batteries for camera external.  This is a great little build.  $130 plus shipping.

All depends on your definition of long lasting and size of your memory card

If you have it set up to take several thousand picks in a few days then the battery life will be short.  I have seen people do this and complain battery life is short.  I do not put out feed so my cams will last months.  But I m lucky to get 100 pics.    It just depends on what you want.

How long would a home made camera last?
just tired of spending Money on China Cams that don't last or quit working for no reason
would be interested in a p-41 or similar complete  build.
Thanks

There is no way to say that for sure.  Depends on your build and how much battery power you use.   The reason nobody can tell you this answer is you never really know how many night pics you are going to get.  Night pics use more energy than day pics.  I have cams that last months in the field.  I may not check my cam for a month or longer so I build to favor that.  I  do not know  your situation with commercial cams.  I have seen commercial cams use 8 c batteries and are dead within a week.  If this was a honebrew I would throw it out.  It can get complicated when you look at all the battery options available today.  It is also exciting if you take the time to understand battery technology.  The cam shown on top may last a month.  Not designed for several months.  It can be modified to last months though.

Are you asking how long a homebrew will last in terms of pictures or the durability? I have cams running on over 6 years and still going strong and the nice thing about a homebrew is if a part goes out you can fix them yourself

I've got P32 and S40 builds that have run for over two months on a pair of AAs in the camera and six AAs as externals (all rechargables). And the batteries still had enough charge to take photos when I checked them.

Let me know what you think of the night pics.   The F45fd is the European version of the f40fd.  Much like the P41 and P43.

Hey Good Morning !
I got a question about Fuji Build if I set the date & time  up will it show on picture ?
also what the little chubby battery for the backup for Board ?

Also would Olympus D-360-L worth a build or a Olympus FE-47 I got 2 each other day.
not sure I could do it but I might try, if worthy.

Thanks John

That battery runs the control board.  Should be good for about a year.
