That by far the best (and sharpest) bobcat footage l have ever seen on here! To catch that bobcat chasing the squirrel and bouncing off that first tree is just super. What were the determining factors that made you choose that tree to place your camera on?

Thank you for your kind words about the video.

The tree sits about 18 inches to the side of a fairly heavily used wildlife trail where the plateau begins its steep drop into the valley below. Deer, bear and coyotes frequently use the trail as do bobcats. Down on the slope below the tree is field of boulders ranging up to the size of a large automobile; in among the boulders are outcrops of bedrock with overhangs of various sizes -- the type of habitat bobcats in this area prefer for resting and rearing their young. Plus the tree is somewhat screened from view from the plateau by some mountain laurel so the camera is less likely to be seen by anyone on the plateau.

Fantastic video sequence Woody. Both the bobcat and the squirrel were super fast but the squirrel managed to win this time.
