Shop ordered 4 more Excalibur 380's today and was told they wouldn't be in till Sept. Seems they thought the 355 would be the big seller but were wrong. They can't make them fast enough (no pun on speed intended). Jushing for you two to gloat about...and no I'm not getting one.

From Dave @ Wyvern!

Excal is so far behind I was told the other day that if I placed an order for one today I could expect delivery sometime the end of November if I am lucky/ the camo is next to impossible to get in. Black however is still out there. The 355's are getting almost as bad to find too. Just be aware that anyone holding off on a camo 380 may be very dissapointed. Just letting everyone know what I know.

Anybody that waited to get one for hunting season is going to be disappointed, but hey, he's clearing out his Horton's real cheap!

Hmmmm...do you know something we don't?
Have an Exocet from last year trying to sell on craigslist for him, fully loaded...for $650.00. Have listed no trades and price is firm. Keep having guys respond asking if will trade pistols, rifles, etc. Had a guy last night wonder if would take partial payment of it for a Horton Havoc " it is 50# lighter pull so will be easier to cock". Had to tell him to read the ad again as said no trades...oh and btw, Horton is bankrupt. Wonder now what he'll think?

I hear that Horton Havoc is a real POS. I do not own one or have I shot one but sure do not hear much good about them .    Hope you get the $650 for the bow but seems like a lot for a used bow.  But I have very little money.

Bruce and Larry. Doesn't bother me either way on the Equinox (said the wrong model before) but guy had asked it be put on Craigs list(varie zone scope, 8 420 firebolts, quiver, string dampner, cheek piece...don't know if stock option or not... and 3 new strings and one a year old). Dave will do it for someone who buys a bow from him but it is whatever the price the guy asks and not up to Dave.
Horton Havoc actually seemed to be one of the quieter bows with less "recoil". But since they are bankrupt it is a moot point in getting one. TenPoint bought out the name but not the stock/line or whatever so not responsible for any warrenty work so basically if you have a Horton and the dealer doesn't have any repair parts then you're screwed.

If your friend can wait, someone should be looking in the next few months, you know how it goes, most guys don't buy hunting stuff till it's almost hunting season.

I under stand Jon.
I hear Ten point sent all the warranty bows back to the customers not repaired that had been sent in for warranty repair. So sounds like if you own a Horton that is broken and you want it fixed you will have to buy another broken Horton to repair yours.
Yea what Bruce said on people buying hunting equipment.
Going to buy a few Spynal Tapps and BEE shafts from Jerry down at South Shore Archery and shoot them and see wath shaft I like better. The Spynal Tapps sound awesome now that you do not have to buy the L-N-L inserts the price is good too.
Jon just think how quiet that horton will be after the limb brakes bet it will sound a lot like your Parker May-pop after its limb broke.    ( Sorry that was wrong )   I bring this up almost as much as you bring up Mike getting nailed by that S600.

Can't believe your still getting on Jon bout his Barker Bow, someday he'll get tired of replacing limbs an come over to the Excal side of life, maybe....

on the limbs! Haven't shot it much since last season (turkey) and had meant to shoot it all winter just to be sure but...
Always have Dad's Excalibur if need to switch to something but unsure if I would. Nothing against the bow but just for me I like a lighter bow and one a bit narrower A to A when cocked. The Horton Havoc really had my attention last year but now glad it was too expensive for me.

btw, think I bring up the zapping more!  THAT was just too funny. Taught me what NOT to do. Only wish I had learned from it.

Guess so. Put a 355 together and another guy shot it to make sure sighted in. Just too long a power stroke for me to be able to reach down to grab the rope. Also poundage too much for me...I'm a wuss. Only thing didn't like is compared to the TenPoint had just put together too it was alot louder. Not something to cause trouble I'd say.
btw (x2) Just too whooped by the problem to really get motivated to do some shooting.

Dave got in a couple 380's and they got put together and sighted in. My opinion of them only. VERY noisy, when guy who helps at the shop chronied it we thought he hit the metal shield on the chrony it was such a metalic, loud clang going off. With Excaliburs arrows, 150 gr. tip for overall weight of 400 gr. it only shot 355. Assuming with a 100 gr. tip in is where they're getting their speed rating. Remember just my assumption of it. Know lot of guys don't care anything but speed (not meaning you 2 but about a guy who came in yesterday and had never shot a crossbow in his life and after looking at TenPoints and the Mission Stryker he went with the Mission only because "it shoots 30 fps faster").

Have read the about the same thing on the Excal forums, loud and 355 fps.
The factory speed claim is with a 18" arrow weighing 350 grains, not really realistic, most
guys are shooting 400 grains or more. Do know the heavier arrows will make em a bit quieter.

I'll take a higher Kinetic energy arrow over a faster one anyday. If you keeping your hunting shots under 30 yds a few more fps doesn't really matter.
