I've been wanting to try some new things lately, but I can't seem to stop building p41 cams lol. They're easy to hack, super fast, take great pics and seem very durable. This is my 5th p41 build. It looked a bit rough initially, but I think it turned out to be my best 3d camo job yet. Still haven't tested this one, gonna put it out in the yard for a trial run tomorrow.

That 3D is really nice, just wondering about the lens and flash glass and how the image will be -- or are you going to clean them off.

I had masking tape over the lenses and fresnel woody, sorry I didn't mention that before.

I like the p41 except mine are hit and miss on night time focus and I have one camera that will take 6 or 7 good crisp pictures day or night after I change the batteries then the next 100+ until the batteries die are blurry

That paint job is awesome on that build. I like 41s also, especially at closer distances. the problem I have with them is that they are hard to find and pricey when you do find them. I haven't mastered the hack on them yet either...I usually ruin a SA or 2 trying to get them aligned properly.(aging eyes I guess)

That means alot coming from you... I'm a big fan of your builds, always looks great, and wiring is neat and tidy. Believe it or not, I think the p41 is one of the easiest hacks, never had any problems. All of my pics in the 5 or so p41's I've built have been crystal clear both day/night. The only trouble I've had is a finicky lcd, which is usually fixed by cleaning the lcd ribbon cable. I agree, they're hard to find, but I've been lucky enough to find several 41's for under $30.

I just finished an s600/1020/SSII build with one of JDH's fast hack add-on boards, gonna start testing it as soon as the 3d camo/paint is fully cured.. I'm also still wanting to try my hand at a couple IR A503 builds, possibly trying an exchanger, for day color/night IR, but haven't been able to track down any of the old exchangers that require very little modification.

That 600/1020/SSII/JDH fast hack board will be an awesome camera....I have the same build only with an s-40. I was actually thinking on contacting JDH to see if he still has some of those add-on boards for sale.

Yeah the fh addon boards work great! I bought 3 of them off Don a while back, this is the 2nd one I'll be adding to a build, but the first one worked flawless, and this one has worked perfect during indoor testing.

If JDH doesn't still sell them, you're more than welcome to the one board I have remaining, just pay shipping. I don't have plans on using it anytime soon. One of the chip legs is broken, but I'm sure that's nothing a little solder and a piece of solid core wire couldn't fix.

I've had this cam out for a couple days now in Ohio for "field testing". It snapped a pic of me both days as I walked by, and caught this guy last night. I had him at 52yds this morning trailing a doe. Need him to get a little closer next time, but I'm very pleased with the build.
