How many guys going to use their crossbow for spring gobbler? Made sure mine (Parker [biggrin] ) was still sighted in. Next Sat. baby!! Was out yesterday and 3 were gobbling right in my area...only bad thing is helping a guy to take his 2 out for the mentored hunt that begins tomorrow so after getting his 2 blinds up if his kids get 2 then I'll only have 1 left...not good odds for me that it'll be deaf, dumb and blind.

I'll be using my Excal for sure. Need to tweak it a bit, I had the scope off when I put the Triggertech trigger on, I did a quick zeroing a month ago but really need to get it finished. This was after the operation, You had to ask  [biggrin]

If they quit asking me to work every weekend , I might wipe the dust off the 380 but I think I said that last year too. Always seem busy this time of year.

I've heard the same one a couple of times now but he's way up on the hill, I suspect he's flying down into the gas line and showing off. A few yrs ago I'd been up there waiting for him, now I'd prefer he come down off the hill to me....

Bruce, notice I said turkeys? Plural?? Hate to admit it but 3 jakes came in out at max. range, wouldn't follow the hen in to my decoy. Knew they were right at 40 yards and have the bottom stadia wire set at 40 yards. Had to wait for them to finally seperate and shot. Heard the bolt going through the leaves and the turkey just straightened up, none of them ran, just looked around. Well me being brilliant suddenly remember they aren't spooked and I can't be seen in the blind. Lokked around and finally found my cocking rope, laid almost flat and cocked it then looked around for my quiver and got another bolt. They by now had started walking but last one was almost where original one had been. Ranged real quick and got 41 yards so held 40 again higher on the wing butt and....heard it going through the leaves again! Turkey just stood as high as he could. Couldn't get it cocked again before they left. Found one of the bolts. Went to my buddies and got another bolt and tried shooting out at 35 yards. Bolt flew right 6" and high 6". What the heck? Tried another broadhead design (TruFires) and resighted to my deer ranges 15/25/35. All dead nuts now and at 25 the RazorTrick (which missed with), the TruFire and a field point all hit the same, almost shaved vanes off. Can only think either bumped the scope or the RazorTrick (4 blade) is planing some.

Well I decide to pull a sneaky on em an went out around 10, there were 4 or 5 feeding in front of my blind  [rofl]  so I sneak's around in the hemlocks until they're about a hundred yds away. I squawked they look, they keep feeding, I squawked some more , they look some more, keep feeding their fat faces. After a hour or so, I got up they run away, I went home.
One of em a real Big guy, maybe tomorrow.
